John Sly is a Senior Valuer and Associate at Hay Property Group, having been admitted as an Associate of the Australian Property Institute (Valuer) in 1988. He also holds an Associate Diploma in Valuations (R.M.I.T.) and has completed a Certificate of Business Studies majoring in Real Estate.

Prior to joining Hay Property Group, John was the Group Valuer for Hayden Valuation Services, being one of four Registered Valuers within that group. During a six year period he gained wide and valuable experience in all property types and valued predominantly in the Melbourne Metropolitan area, Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula Regions.

Before joining Haydens, John commenced his valuation experience as a Municipal Valuer completing six years at the Melbourne City Council where he gained extensive experience in Local Government and State Government Legislation.

John qualified as a Valuer in 1988 and for over three decades has been valuing all types of properties including commercial, rural, residential and industrial. John has in recent years specialised in Bayside residential properties, particularly modern unit development, including those in the inner city and Docklands.

John has completed valuations for a wide variety of purposes including mortgage, compensation, acquisition, insurance, pre-purchase and sales advice. He has also completed rental determination valuations for residential, retail and industrial properties. He recently completed portfolio valuations for a number of private companies and banking institutions and has appeared as an expert witness in property disputes.
